The Privat-O-Mat is a media ethics and pedagogy tool to enhance the digital literacy of citizens. To help users reflect on their personal data privacy behaviour, they are confronted with various use cases from digital everyday life via an interactive web application. Based on their answers, the users are assigned corresponding privacy types. In addition to this reflection, further information material on the topic is provided to help the users expand their digital literacy.
The project was developed in cooperation with the Institute for Digital Ethics (HdM Stuttgart) and the LfDI Baden-Württemberg (Landesbeauftragter für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit).
